Removals & relocation

Hospital equipment removal and relocation, handled by a white-glove crew

Hospital equipment removals are rarely just a pickup. The room has to be cleared on a schedule, the route is full of corridors and elevators, and the equipment has to arrive somewhere in the same condition it left. RapidMed Logistics plans each removal around your site and moves it on a dedicated vehicle.

Dispatch is staffed 24/7.

What our hospital equipment removals cover

Hospitals and clinics remove equipment for many reasons: a department is moving, an imaging room is being replaced, a unit is going to a refurbisher, or a building is being closed. In each case our crew comes to the room, protects the equipment and the building, brings it out through the corridors and elevators, and loads it by liftgate onto a vehicle that carries only your load.

Imaging systems, patient monitors, hospital beds, exam tables, lab instruments, surgical equipment and carts all move this way. For a closer look at heavy imaging, see our MRI and CT equipment moving page, or browse everything on the equipment we move list.

Who does what on removal day

Your biomed team or the manufacturer disconnects the equipment, handles any data clearing and prepares the unit. We do not take on disconnection or decontamination; we coordinate our arrival with the people who do, so the equipment is ready when the crew is.

From that point the move is ours: packing and securing the equipment, moving it through the building, loading it, and carrying it to the destination. A 2-person or 3-person crew is assigned based on the weight and the route, and liftgate vehicles cover buildings without a loading dock.

Where removed equipment goes

Removed equipment can go to another campus or clinic, to a refurbisher, to an auction or asset-recovery buyer, into storage, or overseas with export crating and customs documentation. Same-day pickup is available across Virginia, Maryland, Washington, DC and North Carolina, and scheduled dedicated hot shot service covers the rest of the country. Read our nationwide medical equipment transport overview for how the service works. For scheduled, non-urgent moves, our partner also handles hospital, lab and clinic equipment shipping nationwide.
