What affects the cost
Every quote starts from the same questions. Here is how each factor changes the job.
Distance
The farther the equipment travels, the more driving, fuel and driver time the move needs. A dedicated run between two nearby buildings is a different job from a cross-country trip, and international moves add air or ocean freight and customs.
Weight and size
Heavy or oversized systems need larger vehicles, more crew and sometimes special loading gear. Dimensions also decide whether the equipment fits the doors, elevators and corridors at both ends.
Crating and packing
Delicate or high-value equipment may need a crate, a skid or custom padding. Packing protects the equipment, and the amount of packing depends on the make, the model and the manufacturer’s requirements.
Rigging and de-installation
Large imaging systems, chambers and fixed installations may need a rigger, a crane or the manufacturer to de-install and install them. That work is usually separate from transport, and we coordinate our timing with it.
Liftgate or inside delivery
A dock-to-dock delivery is the simplest. A liftgate is needed when there is no dock, and white-glove inside delivery adds a 2-person or 3-person crew that carries the equipment through the building, sets it in the room and removes the packing.
Timing and rush service
A flexible, scheduled move can be planned around other work. A same-day or STAT hot shot run sends a dedicated vehicle on your deadline, and the more urgent the timing, the more it affects the price.
Access and building rules
Stairs, tight elevators, limited dock hours and long carries all add handling time. Telling us about them up front prevents surprises on moving day.
