Medical equipment logistics in Newport News

Healthcare in Newport News, Virginia runs on equipment that cannot sit idle, and when it has to move, it has to move carefully. RapidMed Logistics serves the hospital campuses, medical office buildings and outpatient centers in and around Newport News, including the clinics, imaging centers and surgery centers that tend to cluster near the area's major health systems. Typical Newport News jobs include hospital beds, lab analyzers and centrifuges, medication dispensing cabinets and veterinary imaging and exam tables, as well as single pieces that simply need to get from one room or building to another. Because Virginia is inside our same-day region, a call to dispatch can usually put a dedicated truck at your Newport News dock the same day. Each move is a dedicated, single-load run: equipment is blanket-wrapped, strapped, loaded by liftgate and kept upright, then brought inside and set in the room you choose by a 2-person or 3-person white-glove crew. We also cover Richmond and Midlothian and other Virginia communities near Newport News. To plan a Newport News move, send the equipment make and model, weight, dimensions, photos and both addresses, and we will come back with a clear quote.

Newport News, Virginia is inside our same-day service region, which covers Virginia, Maryland, Washington, DC and North Carolina. How medical equipment moves work in Newport News, VA

How a Newport News medical equipment move works

To move medical equipment in Newport News, VA, call 866-216-7742 or request a quote online. Tell us the equipment make and model, the pickup and delivery addresses, the dimensions and weight, and any stairs, elevators or dock limits. We confirm the truck, the crew and the pickup window, then dispatch a hot shot vehicle that runs direct from pickup to delivery with no terminal transfers.

The pickup and delivery buildings usually decide how long a move takes, so we confirm docks, elevator size, door widths and receiving hours up front.

We serve hospitals, imaging centers, labs, clinics and manufacturers in Newport News and nearby Richmond, Midlothian, Virginia Beach. Same-day and next-day pickup is available in Virginia.

How to prepare equipment before pickup in Newport News

  • Confirm in writing whether the manufacturer (OEM) or a certified biomedical engineer must de-install and re-install the unit, and book them before the pickup date.
  • Back up data, then remove or wipe protected health information so the move stays HIPAA-compliant.
  • Clean and decontaminate the unit, drain fluids and remove consumables, and keep a record that it was done.
  • Secure or remove loose parts, cables and accessories, and label everything so it can be matched to the unit at delivery.

What is included with Newport News transport

  • Climate-controlled cargo space for heat-, cold- and humidity-sensitive electronics, optics and supplies when you need it.
  • White-glove inside delivery by a trained 2-person or 3-person crew: path protection, placement in the room and removal of packing material.

  • Photos at pickup and delivery, a bill of lading that lists every piece and a chain-of-custody manifest.
  • A certificate of insurance on request, with the declared value confirmed before pickup rather than after.
